U-Turns & Parking

❗❗ U-TURNS & PARKING ❗❗

Metro have notified the school on multiple occasions that we have had families picking up their students in the bus zone. Today, the bus was unable to drop a passenger off because cars were parked in the bus zone.

It has also been noted that we still have people doing U-turns at the front of the school.

K - 2 Cross Country Postponed

Social Media Update from the Department

Dear families

Today’s update is precautionary only.

The Tasmanian Government is investigating a possible theft of data from a third-party file transfer service, GoAnywhere MFT.

A vulnerability in this software was exploited globally, and the Tasmanian Government may be one of many victims.

What we know:

This software is used by the Department for Education, Children and Young People.
At this stage, there is no proof that anything has been stolen.
Early investigations indicate that there is a risk that financial data from the Department for Education, Children and Young People may have been compromised.
The financial data may include names, addresses, invoices and bank account numbers.

It’s important the Tasmanian community is aware of the possible theft.

Please be vigilant and, if needed, take practical steps including staying alert for any suspicious financial activity or attempted scams.

The Tasmania Government continues to closely monitor the situation.

Updates will be provided as they become available.

Your financial provider – if you have any concerns about financial transactions.

ECE Athletics Carnival - Thursday 23rd March

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are all looking forward to our ECE Sports Carnival this Thursday afternoon starting at 1:30pm and expect spectators to behave in a way that aligns with the values and expectations of our school.

All spectators are required to position themselves on the deck viewing platform area beside 3-4 Faulkner. Students will remain with their class for the afternoon and can be collected from their classroom once the sports carnival finishes at the end of the day.

STOP WORK MEETING CANCELLED FRIDAY 10TH MARCH

Dear Families,

Today, we have been advised that the planned Stop Work Action for Friday, 10 March has been called off by the Australian Education Union (AEU).

This means that on Friday our normal school operations will be in place.

STOP WORK ACTION FRIDAY 10TH MARCH 2023

Dear Families,

The latest advice we have is that the Australian Education Union (AEU) has directed its members to participate in a stop work action on Friday 10 March 2023.

As a result of the number of staff participating in this action, a decision has been made to temporarily close all Tasmanian Government Schools for educational instruction from 1.00pm on Friday 10 March 2023.

This means that on Friday schools will open as normal in the morning and students can arrive at school as they usually do on this day. However, families will need to make arrangements to pick their child up at 1.00pm.

We have been advised that buses will run as per their usual timetable in the morning and afternoon. If your child relies on bus transport in the afternoon you will need to make other arrangements for their travel home.

We understand this will be an inconvenience for some families; it is regrettable that school closure action is necessary, however, we must be able to ensure adequate safety and supervision of students. If you have concerns regarding these arrangements, please contact our office as soon as possible.
